Medieval Zenkoji, known as the most sacred place in the three
provinces. The temple-town was a place where day and night,
this world and the other world, hell and heaven existed side
by side. Walk down the street where priests'huts, stores and
residences are jumbled together, and experience the lives
of both religious and lay people. |

A medium-scale farmhouse of the early Edo
period. Along with a variety of daily-use items we have some
products that were stored up in readiness for the bleak winter.
Along with pictures which illustrate changes in clothing,
food and shelter, one can get a realistic sense of the small-scale
farmers who lived in the village.
