The Kiso cypress forest, which symbolises
the climate and history of Shinano. Our history tour of
Shinano begins as we refresh our senses amid the environment
of the Akazawa Nature Restoration Forest, where we trace
back the time road that has been brought our for us by the
tree rings of the cypress.

A Jomon village built as a result of clearing
the forest in the piedmont of Yatsugatake, known as the Jomon
kingdom. Pit dwellings and raised-floor structures spread
out in a circle from the central raised stones and aligned
stones. The houses are plentifully stocked with the products
of the mountains, and one can experience the life-style of
the Jomon people who dwelt in the forest.
